Who we are
China Arts Ombibus is a blog by and for anyone critically engaged with Chinese art, design, and visual culture, from the past, present, and peering into the future. The blog publishes visually-oriented posts and is committed to scholarship-in-writing (writing as a form of seeing and knowing), and to the experimental development of new visual research methods and questions. This is a place to challenge art- and design-historical paradigms and practices. The central focus of the blog is visual and material.
The blog provides an opportunity to directly address a general readership, to write in an accessible personal voice, and to explore visual and material things in our globalizing culture, as well as traces of pasts that may have been ignored or neglected.
